Late afternoon today, I met up with two other birders, Paul and Ken, looking
for the warblers at the LBJ Grove. We got to see both an Orange-crowned and
a Pine (an immature), plus chickadees and titmice. Golden-Crowned Kinglets
were heard.
Along the canal, a female Wood Duck and a Black-crowned Night Heron were
spotted. A flock of 29 Tundra Swan flew south over the Potomac and an adult
Bald Eagle passed overhead. I got a brief look at a dark-backed falcon as it
flew from a tall decidious tree and was then immediately lost from view by
pine trees.

It's a productive place to bird, despite the jets roaring overhead.
