At sunset on Sat., 1/9 in Cambridge, MD approx. 2000 large gulls and a Brown Pelican were flying, settling on the Choptank River at "Jone's Boat House" and the adjacent sand spit located off the point where Hambrooks Blvd. makes its first sharp turn to the left. The birds could also be seen from "Great Marsh", which is at the end of Talbot/Somerset Avenues at the river. At Oakley St. and the river there were the usual mass of Canvasbacks along with small groups of Redheads, Greater Scaup and A. Wigeon. Mary Ann Todd Dave Czaplak
