Patuxent Bird Club    -    Spring 1999 Program

Meetings:

The Spring 1999 meetings of the Patuxent Bird Club, a chapter of the
MOS, will be held at 7:45pm on the 4th Tuesday of each month from
January through May in the Bio Science building, Beltsville Agricultural
Research Center.  Speakers and programs for the Spring meetings include:

Jan. 26 - Adopt an Acre: Preservation of Neotropic Habitats; by George
Jett,
Feb. 23 -  The Natural History of Chile, by Sid Jacobs,
March 23 -   Cerulean Warblers, by Deanna Dawson,
April 27 -   Birding in Venezuela, by Fred Fallon,
May 25 -  Member's Night.  Birding Slides and Forays by our members


Field Trips:

Fran Uhler Natural Area.  Meet at 8 AM.  Leader Fred Fallon.  This local
natural area borders on the Patuxent River and has a wide diversity of
wetlands habitat.
Feb. 6, at 8am;   March 6, at 8am;   April 3, at 8am;  May 1, at 7am;
June 5, at 7am

Lake Artemesia.  Meet at 7:30 AM.  Leader David Mozurkewich.  Despite
its develop-ment and crowds this local hotspot promises remarkable
birding year-around.
Jan 23 7:30am;  Feb 20 7:30am;  Mar 20 7:30am;  Apr 24 7:30am;  May 22
7:00am.
