Hi all -- I tend to agree with an earlier post -- support your local vendors if at all possible. Not only is it good business, but you have their backup. When I bought my Nikon camera and lenses, also Kowa scope and Zeiss bins, I bought locally. However, sometimes you cannot get what you want locally or the price differential is too great. When I went to buy a camcorder, no one locally carried the model I wanted and ordered, it would have been over $1200. I purchased the model I wanted from B&H in NYC, whch imho is the best discount house. The people I have spoken with gave me a fair amount of advice, esp. about batteries, tapes and lenses. The price was about 50% of what I had been quoted ordering from Canon (!!). Over the years I have purchased other items from B&H -- film, lenses, as well as a Bogen tripod -- and have been satisfied with their service. Gail Mackiernan
