Paul: What amazes me is that you are the only person I know of who made an effort to see the birds. Not even the Harford County folks have showed up except for those taking a field trip. I know it is waterfowl, but I believe these birds have a legitimate chance to be countable. I suspect they are from the Great Lakes breeding population. The people at Airlie in Virginia and from Horsehead Woods say they are absolutely not theirs, all of which are banded and accounted for, and they say they know of no one who has this species in captivity except for the groups working with them. Not a shock, considering that it is an Endangered species. Do Michael and Louise have a new e-mail address yet? No point in doing more counts...I obvioulsy shot my wad for the next decade or two.
