I can't resist mentioning that my mother has a snapshot of me from
1960 or so throwing a rock at some ducks at this very same pond. Its
     been all downhill from there.....

I used to see pied-bills on the pond periodically, but that was about
     it for unusual.

"The prices are killing us," said a boat captain who would
not allow his name to be used. "The only future in fishing
is taking Audubon people out to look at stupid ducks."

Hi MDOsprey,
Family went to the Duck Pond in Adelphi West of Md U.
Saw an irridescent green duck w/ black bill, mallard size.
Anyone ever see it? Is it a domesticated duck? Yesterday saw
60+ Canada Goose and several M/F Mallards. At Hyattsville
Library went through all the birding books available with no luck.
Any ideas?
