Hi all,

For those thinking about looking for the reported Eurasian Wigeon at Kent
Narrows, I might be able to help your search. Jim Stasz and I went to look
for it yesterday (Tuesday) and did find it. However, we did not find any
ducks off the frontage rd. to Rte. 50. What we did was to visit Horsehead
Sanctuary/ The Wildfowl Trust in Grasonville (turn right just past the fire
station). Once there we walked out the nature trail to the end where it comes
out in themarsh and one can view the cove, which, when we went, was full of
ducks. The wigeon was all the way across the cove next to the marsh that is
adjacent to Rte. 50. It was difficult to spot at that distance, and I should
note that afternoon light is essential (it is perfect at 3:00 or so when we
were there). Lots of wigeon, Gadwall, Cans, scaup (both), as well as 10
Redheads, 10 Ring-neckeds, 3 Ruddies, and a Horned Grebe. The bird is an
adult male.

Good luck to all those that look for it.

Best,
