The Kelp Gull was present at the Sea Breeze Restaurant pier when we arrived
about 10 am and was still there when we left at 3 pm, being enjoyed by a
number of birders. Who knows where he/she was during the Absence of the last
two days?

The Kelp Gull appears to be a fairly agressive bird, chasing Herring Gulls
away from food items tossed to it be admirers. I was able to get quite a bit
of video footage (to compare with that of Kelp Gulls taken last year in
Peru and South Africa), and several others were taking photographs.

Hopefully the bird will stick around a bit longer--
