I think what makes it easier for people to understand is the visual association of a tiny dog "barking". So many sparrows chip, seep, tchup that a similar definition gets lost to newer birders. However, invisioning a little dog "woofing" in the brush is an association people seem to carry in their memory. Bonnie Ott
