While you guys were freezing your tushies off today, I was birding in sunny, 80 degree weather at Merritt Island NWR. I saw 76 species but dipped on the Florida Scrub Jay. The volunteer at the visitors center told me 2 places they were being seen. I checked each place 3 times during the day to no avail. Some of the birds I saw were: both Brown and White Pelicans Wood Stork Glossy and White Ibis Roseate Spoonbill (great looks) thousands of shorebirds Royal Tern Ground Dove and 5 warbler species - Northern Parula, Yellow-rumped, Palm, Northern Waterthrush and Common Yellowthroat. Enjoy the snow on Tuesday. :) Les =========== Les Eastman les_eastman@netfox.net Havre de Grace, MD Visit the Harford Bird Club Web Page at http://birdclub.harfordhasit.com
