Lookout addendum/thanks Ellen Date: Mon, 8 Mar 1999 10:43:55 -0500 MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Internet Mail Service (5.5.2232.9) Content-Type: text/plain Hi everyone, A few more species Howard Youth and I saw at Pt. Lookout on Saturday: both kinglets, a nice group of 8-10 Bonaparte's Gulls, and Brown-headed Nuthatches (heard only). The Palm Warbler we saw looked like a western race bird - white underneath, bright yellow vent. It seemd to be starting its pre-alternate molt (the chestnut cap was only showing in patches) It was also early for a Palm Warbler, according to the Yellow Book. Perhaps it wintered at Pt. Lookout? Jane and Tyler - it was great to meet you and finally see the Kelp Gull (probably the easiest lifer I will ever see!) Thanks again for all the work you're doing to keep everyone updated. I'd also like to say thanks to Ellen Paul for providing all the information on the Sunday hunting issue, and for her offers to train people to effectively address future issues of this sort. I was not able to show up for the hearing in person, but because of the information made available on the Osprey, I was able to send e-mails. Ellen made many good points in her posts, and I feel that she and all the other folks who kept us posted on this issue deserve our thanks. Gemma Radko gjradkl@erols.com
