I don't know if it is true that the Rock Creek Park Maintenance Yard installation would not pose a threat to migratory birds. It is true that the resolution "Communication Towers and Avian Mortality" of the Ornithological Council, approved April, 1998, refers to "communications towers, particularly those higher than 200 feet ... [which] are required to be lit for aircraft safety ..." The resolution is reprinted, along with a link to the Ornithological Council site and many other pertinent items and links, at http:\\www.towerkill.com. I am gathering inputs on the Rock Creek issue on behalf of the New Columbia (DC) Audubon Society, in preparation for our formal comments. Mike Milton Washington, DC mikemilton@ibm.net
