Northern Exposure was absolutely one of my favorite T.V. shows ever! I can
still occasionally catch it in reruns on weekends, and do remember one episode
where Holling and Ruth Ann were "chasing" a local rarity- the Rufous-sided
Towhee (if I remember correctly). I even have a Northern Exposure cook book.
My favorite recipe comes from Joel's receptionist (whose name I cannot now
recall). She was a woman of few words, and her recipe was for some sort of
potato soup. She wrote something like: peel and boil potatoes, add spice,
serve, no talking!
