Hi All:
We enjoyed about 1 1/2 hrs. of rain free birding today before things
went downhill fast, and how!
A nice assortment at Ocean City Inlet:
Common and red-throated loon
Red-breasted merg
Surf and black scoter
Harlequin duck
Common Eider
Northern Gannet
Purple Sandpiper
Bonapartes and laughing gull
Foresters tern
American oystercatcher
4th Street Flats held ~ 25 Brant
Indian River Inlet- marsh at south side entrance - 8 black-crown night
herons and 1 american bittern flushed by Sean McCandless tramping about
in the pouring rain.
Indian River Marina- Harlequin duck, ruddy turnstone, horned grebe,
common loon and red-breasted merg.
Bartons Island- eared grebe- 1
Silver Lake- the usual culprits, canvasback, am. coot, black duck and
ruddy duck.
At this point, called it a day, all fed up with relentless pouring rain,
and proceeded to El Sombrero in Dover for good Indian food!
