Joan,

Here in Bowie the Peepers have going full throttle every night for the =
past week or more.

You might also be seeing Spotted Salamander eggs-which also form tennis =
ball sized clusters.
Wood Frog eggs are tightly packed together in a large cluster-while =
Spotted Salamander eggs are=20
enclosed in a single globular structure. Either way it's always an =
exciting find!!

I realized last week that I've not heard spring peepers along=20
Accotink Creek in Fairfax Co. I usually hear them in February. I =
walked there again today, and not a peep to be heard. There are large, =
globular egg masses in some rainwater pools along the trails=20
    (Wood frog?).
