Birds seen on Sunday, April 4, 1999:

At McKeldin Area, Patapsco Valley SP - 2 Yellow-throated Warblers, one at 
its usual station on Marriottsville Road and the other downstream on the 
Howard County side of the river; 1 Louisiana Waterthrush; no gnatcatchers 
yet; junco numbers down significantly.

At Piney Run Park (waterfowl numbers are way down since the park opened 
for the season on the first)- Common Loon 2 in breeding plumage are the 
first of the season, Pied-billed Grebe 1, Horned Grebe 2, Canada Goose 
20, Mallard 3, Shoveler 1 male, Green-winged Teal 2 females, Lesser Scaup 
3, Bufflehead 12, Ruddy Duck 3, Killdeer 5, Greater Yellowlegs 1, Coot 
50, Ring-billed Gull 11.

At home in Eldersburg - 2 Double-crested Cormorants flying over, Robins 
still migrating.
