cherry blossom time

ospreyers,
the cherry blossoms are at peak at the Tidal Basin, DC, where an osprey
was fishing, oblivious to the hordes of tourists (and conversely). a
couple of turkey vultures soared over the basin, perhaps to see if any of
the paddle-boaters had fallen in...
the washington channel had a mixed flock of greater (half-dozen males;
don't know how to separate females) and lesser (about 20) scaup. can
anyone tell me which of these is more likely there? Overhead, a crow
(sp?) harassed a GBBG, which I hadn't observed before. Several large
military helicopters added an ominous note to the proceedings.
cheers,
