Well, after getting soaked to the bone this morning on a Howard County Bird
Club walk led by Paul Zucker, at 4:00 PM, I decided it had stopped raining
and took an late afternoon walk around Lake Elkhorn in Columbia.

The best bird for me was the first bird I found, a Lousianna Waterthrush
that called and flew in front of me
as I crossed the wooden bridge (the one in need of repair) between Brush Run
and Lake Elkhorn. The first one I've seen this year. At the lake I saw
about 20 Yellow-rumped Warblers, ten or so Palm Warblers, two Pine Warblers
(one of them singing), Eastern Phoebe, two female Belted Kingfishers. My
walk was cut short when it started to rain hard and hail (pea sized). On my
way back, I realized it was a very smart waterthrush. It was under the
bridge.

Good Birding,
