Hi Folks!

I am not going to try to do what Greg Miller did in 1998, but stay closer to
home. I plan to work on all of my Maryland County Lists. The next
Yellowthroat should have the summaries of all of the County Lists through
December 31, 1998. So far this year my Annual County Lists through March are:

Garrett: 73, Allegany 62, Washington 66, Frederick 75, Carroll 59, Montgomery
67, Howard 58, Baltimore 60, Harford 80, Cecil 85, Prince George's 72, Anne
Arundel 75, Calvert 86, Charles 56, St. Mary's 87, Kent 76, Queen Anne's 68,
Caroline 59, Talbot 76, Dorchester 107, Wicomico 57, Somerset 111, Worcester
120 and Maryland 179.

Annual Closeouts [found in att 23 counties] through March: Canada Goose,
Mallard, Killdeer, Mourning Dove, American Crow, Carolina Wren, Eastern
Bluebird, European Starling, Northern Cardinal, Song Sparrow, White-throated
Sparrow, Slate-colored Junco, Red-winged Blackbird, Common Grackle, and House
Sparrow for a total of 15. The current record is 62, set in 1992.

How many others keep Annual County Lists for all 23 counties? Am I the only
one?

Good Birding!

Jim
