Hello all,

Today I had a single Vesper Sparrow at the metal gate on 632
approximately .2 mile from the intersection of 657 and 632. Also there were
several Savannah Sparrows running around in the grass and wildflowers.....
Near Grafton School in Clark Co. I picked 5 other sparrow species....
Towhee
Field
Song
Junco
White crown
Along the Shenandoah River I picked up Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers and one
Great Blue Heron.
                        William
ps. This Vesper was decidedly different in color.... The underparts were
sort of almost buffy but more just
off white in color, the head markings were also less pronounced. The white
eye ring that was so very pronounced on previous birds was much less
evident, and the moustachial and malar markings were
more subdued as well. The streaking on the breast seemed heavier and darker.
