A quick noon-time birdwalk around the Lincoln Monument produced the
following birds that were new for me this year, or otherwise notable:
Constitution Gardens had several veeries, catbirds and Eastern
Towhees. The flocks of different sparrows were absent, leaving only
a good number of White-throated Sparrows. The new warbler in this
area was represented by several singing Prairie Warblers.
On the DC Veteran's Memorial side of the pool, new this year were
Wood Thrush, Ovenbird, Magnolia Warbler, Black-throated Blue Warbler
(heard only), Kentucky Warbler (new for my Mall list!) and Red-eyed
Vireo. Also more veeries, catbirds and towhees.
