Ibis seekers -- I just received a phone call from Sam Dyke (at Truitt's Landing), that he observed the previously reported White-faced Ibis this morning (Thursday, 05/06/99) around 9:15 am. He did not see it when first going down Truitt's Landing Road, but on heading back west is flew from the pool area at the northwest corner of the marsh (north of the road and just east of the main woods). He saw it in flight only, and it disappeared behind the pine hammock in the middle of the marsh south of the road. He noted that the white encircled the eye, but did get a good look at the soft parts coloration. This one is going to be difficult ... Mark Hoffman
