Hello,
   I had Crow for breakfast.....
I went up to Indian Springs in Washington Co. Md early this morning
before work. I really goofed on this one. Apologies to all who may have
waisted any time or energy on my previous report regarding an unusual
looking Loon at
Indian Springs W.M.A. None of my previously mentioned field marks which
might have indicated something other than a Common Loon , withstood the
light of day or the power of a scope.
Chinstrap - gone (shadow????)
Bill color....steel blue gray with dark culmen -darker at base
Head and body about the same color....no contrast.
Flank patch..... on this point I need some educating.... I was looking at
the Thayer photo last night and noticed that it shows a white area on the
sides
of a swimming Common Loon... ..susposedly a White flank was a field mark for
(I believe????????) Artic loon....

I saw some good Warblers though. I will write them up later..........
