This is really the Belle Haven Picnic Area.
On May 10th I saw a pair of Warbling Vieros here and then shortly one
(female?) flew and landed on the nest.
On the 19th I returned and "she" appeared to be sitting tight on the nest.
Eggs?

Directions: leaving the GW Parkway, then turn left to the Picnic Area.
straight to the river using the right curb as the base of your line.

is a Sycamore tree, about 15 inches in diameter.
I tied white string around the trunk last evening, there were also some
picnic tables near the tree, but they can be moved.

The nest is maybe 25-30 feet up on the south west side, not hidden by the
leaves. It looks like a typical vireo nest, suspended cup at the end of a
branch.
