Attention experienced birders -

The Migratory Bird Studies group at Patuxent Wildlife Refuge (PWRC) is
looking for good birders to run some experimental BBS routes in MD, VA,
and WV during June. Observers would be paid $100 for each route ($150 if
over-night stay is required) + mileage ($.32/mile). These routes are
regular BBS routes but would be run with 2 observers together, and apart
from their regular coverage by the usual observer. In some cases, ten
off-road points would be censused also - these to be done the next day,
or soon thereafter, and observers would be paid another $100 for doing
them. A further morning at PWRC (in Laurel) for a sample run and
instruction in GPS is possible, which would be compensated for also for
$100. Maps, directions, and GPS units will be provided. An observer
may run 2 such routes, if desired.

This is a great opportunity especially for students, teachers,
retirees, and others who might have some free time during the week as
well as week-ends.

 Please reply to me directly.
