Hello all, Made an unsuccessful attempt to locate the reeve in North Beach this PM, 4:30 to 5:45. Lots of "peeps" on nice mudflats. I believe they are mostly semipalmated sandpipers with a couple westerns, one spotted sandpiper, two snowy egrets, a nesting osprey, and some of each yellowlegs. Was hoping someone who's good at sparrows would come along--saw a pale sparrow with a yellowish supercilium on the mudflat at the edge of vegetation. Bird was far away, even with a scope and was in view for only a very short time before disappearing into the greenery. Saw it only fom side, couldn't tell if streaking on breast. Tail was behind base of vegetation. Across the road, on the bay was one drake bufflehead. If you're planning to look for this bird, the light is much better earlier in the day. ( I knew that, but went anyway.) Good birding, Linda Baker
