Hi All, A belated public "Thank You" to Pete and Carolyn Webb for sharing their nesting Yellow-crowned Night-Herons. I had the opportunity on Sunday, May 23, during a trip to visit my daughter in Baltimore, to view the nest and two of the herons. Arriving about 5:50, I easily found the nest with a bird partially visible inside. About 15 minutes later, the bird got up, providing excellent looks, and moved to the back of the nest out of view. A second bird landed in a tree across the street minutes later, then flew in close and finally onto the nest. It rearranged some twigs before finally settling on the nest. During the hour that I observed, I had wonderful looks at a new life bird. Thanks again to Pete and Carolyn for sharing. I heartily recommend a visit. Happy trails ....
