I had a trio of late-lingering species in Cecil County this
past weekend:
- White-throated Sparrow, 2 males singing in my yard on
Saturday, June 5
- Northern Pintail, 1 male in breeding plumage at West
Meadow Park in Elkton on Friday, June 4
- Rusty Blackbird, one male, singing (if you can call it
that) at Bethel WMA on Friday, June 4. I heard this bird
and then was able to get a good look at it.

Another notable sighting was 11 Little Blue Herons,
including 2 immatures, at the Hatchery Ponds in Elkton on
Friday, June 4. Also 2 Green Herons there.
