Hello all, I was able to locate the Loggerhead Shrike found by Bob Abrams and Joan Boudreau and reported by Todd Day. This is only my second sighting for this bird. I was very pleased to have found the bird once again in my bins. Thanks for the posting! Directions for those who might be interested and who missed the earlier post are as follows: W.Va line drive 3.2 miles. The bird was seen on a telephone wire on the West or left hand side of 340 hawking for insects. There is an abandoned white two story house on the right just several hundred yards from where the Shrike was seen. He didn't stay long I got only about a two minute look and it took off low across the pasture and disappeared. Additionally, just before the W.Va state line on Shepards Mill Road a Vesper Sparrow was seen. From 340 go East (right) on Shepards Mill Road (which I believe is 612) for 2.4 miles. There will be a small butterscotch colored house on the left the Vesper was seen on the telephone wire just past the house on the opposite side of the road. The bird was also seen in the fields on both sides of the road. William Leigh Winchester Va
