I have an opportunity to go looking for Kirtland's Warbler in Michigan June 28 & 29. However, I have just discovered, via the Internet, that these just happen to be the days (Mon & Tues) that the US FWS does not do tours for the warblers. I thought the state also does it's own tours, but I have not found any info on this so far. My impression is that the chances are not too good w/o going on a "tour." So... I was hoping one or more of our widely-traveled Osprey birders could comment on the likelihood of finding a Kirtland's Warbler w/o going on a "tour." (For me to do this would involve a big loop of about 2 1/2 days out of Milwaukee.) Thanks for any comments. Steve Sanford tanager@bcpl.net Randallstown MD
