Howdy All! Had a great time in Western Maryland again this weekend with J.B. Churchill, birding Garrett & Allegany counties. Highlights included 19--it was like Spring all over again--species of warblers (several Golden-winged and a beautiful Blackburnian to my delight), Blue-headed Vireo, Broad-winged Hawk, Turkey, Ruffed Grouse, Least, Willow, and Alder Flycatchers, Veery, Hermit Thrush, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Raven, Vesper and Henslow's Sparrows (7 total in both Garrett & Allegany), Bobolinks, and Dickcissel (3 birds still present in Frederick county). -Greg Miller Baltimore, MD
