A few years ago I was training my dogs at the CTA Training Building in Beltsville, which is in an industrial park area east of RT. 1 and the railroad tracks, west of Old Baltimore Road, and about mid-way between Powder Mill Rd. and Muirkirk Rd. We would often see Least Terns, sometimes carrying small fish, pass overhead in a general S to N direction. However, we were never able to find what building (if any) they were nesting on. Just a few birds -- never more than two at a time. It is not inconceivable that the birds being seen in Greenbelt represent the same breeding group -- the question is, where?? Our sightings would indicate that they were/are? nesting north of the industrial park, as they were carrying small fish north past our point of reference. Gail Mackiernan
