Speaking only of Maryland, and only of the Piedmont, and mostly only of Montgomery and Howard Counties, I agree that Acadian Flycatcher is common, or more specifically dependable in the right habitat. But why not check the data base -- the Patuxent MBR data base, that is! The BBS trend map at http://www.mbr-pwrc.usgs.gov/bbs/htm96/trn626/tr4650.html shows the MD piedmont are to be an area of increase for the species. The trend list page, which is broken down by state also shows this increase, but is not broken down by physiographic area. http://www.mbr.nbs.gov/bbs/htmt/t4650.html Can we get some details about the reason for the posting on the Audubon watch list?
