Sunday, 7/11 I found an apparent family group of Ruddy Ducks -- 1 adult
and 5 young -- at Deal Island. Does this count as the first nesting
record for the lower eastern shore? They are not listed in either the
yellow book or the atlas.

If you are interested in relocating them, take the eastern access to the
area. When you come to the first road (blocked by a yellow pipe gate) on
your left, stop. They were in the channel on the right side of the road
about 1/4 to 1/2 mile past the gate.

Does anyone know if the picnic tables along this road have ever been used?
