This morning during a bird walk at the Patuxent Research Refuge North
Tract, our group observed a downy young Spotted Sandpiper at Lake Allen.
Unlike summers past, the Spotteds have stayed around all of this summer,
and this appears to confirm their breeding here.

Solitary and Least Sandpipers have been at the refuge for at least a week,
and the warblers are getting awfully quiet.
