Bob, Yikes! You caught me shooting from the hip on a warbler id. The birds that I had were working some shrubs next to a ball field on Tylerton. One of the birds was pumping his tail and from where I was standing , seemed to show yellowish undertail coverts. However, my bins were back in my room and perhaps more grave an error- my copy of the "yellow" book remained on my shelf at home. If that had been in my pack, I'd have made a more careful study of those birds. I amend my report to read unid. warbler species! Tom Harten Croom p.s. for the butterfly watchers out there, I had an American Snout in my yard yesterday in Croom. -----Original Message----- From: Robert Ringler <ringler@cct.infi.net> To: MDOsprey@ARI.Net <MDOsprey@ARI.Net> Date: Friday, July 23, 1999 7:40 PM Subject: [MDOsprey] Re: Smith Island >Tom, > Did you really mean to say that you sawe Palm Warblers on Smith >Island?
