The Yellowbook suggests that buffies are seen in Maryland between August 7 and October 15, but with the greatest number being spotted the last week of August right through the end of September. In 1998, Fran and I saw BBSA on September 13 along John Brown Road, about a week after Marshall had gone on his buffy marathon search around the Eastern Shore. It might be interesting to look back and see when buffies appeared on Hart-Miller Island but it's a lot easier just to ask Gene Scarpula what the best dates are there. Good luck with the search for them this year! Best, Norm =============== Norm Saunders Colesville, MD osprey@ari.net
