Linda,

I am going to Maine tommorow and hope to do some birding along the
coast and at Baxter State Park. There is an excellant book called the
"Birder's
Guide to Maine" by Pierson, Pierson, and Vickery. I have found it to be
chock full of information and well written too. I am sure it is available
through eitherAmazon.com, or Buteo Books.1-800-722-2460. I was up there
last
summer near the end of August. The birding was great. Warblers were moving
and it seemed that White-winged Crossbills were everywhere.

                                        Enjoy your trip,
                                                 Sincerely ,
                                                           William Leigh
