    Just some more info on the possible reddish egret. We called Marty Cribb
after seeing Sue's initial inquery and asked Marty to keep an especially
vigilant eye out on his future visits to Smith Island. He made several trips
there last week after that, and he did not have any luck. He said (sorry
about this being second hand, but Marty doesn't have email access) that he'd
also checked with the park rangers for Smith Island, and they, too, did not
have any reddish egrets to report.
    Of course, that doesn't mean there isn't one somewhere in that vast
