Fran and I drove over to (gack) Virginia today at lunch.  She has never
forgiven me for seeing a White Pelican at Fort Smallwood this past
spring WITHOUT her, so this trip was a necessity for family peace.

Anyway, we arrived about 11:45 and immediately found the pelican
feeding in the usual spots almost directly across from Jones Point
and quite close to the Maryland shore.

We will be counting it on both our MD and DC lists because the bird 
was feeding and swimming back and forth constantly over the line 
that Phil Davis drew on the river yesterday.
