[MDOsprey] White Pelican Report

Between 4:00 and 4:30 PM on Saturday, August 28, my wife and I saw the White Pelican in the area of Hunting Creek.
Observed it from a pier behind the Hunting Tower Apartments. It was far away and in the middle of a large flock of
gulls. It helped when the gulls were startled into a mass flight which left the Pelican by it self, (significantly
increasing the Pelican to gull ratio) On the adjacent mud flats were at least 12 great egrets, and about 8 great blue
herons. There were also two great blue herons near the pelican which helped me appreciate the size of the pelican.
The Hunting Tower apartments are the building that one passes on the way to river.
