About 5:30 pm, we noticed a few birds in our chokecherries along the driveway. Dinner was postponed and the bins came out! After about a half-hour, we had totalled a nice lot of migrants -- the best being a Red-breasted Nuthatch in the little mixed flock. Other birds included: Blackburnian (2), Blackpoll (1), Black-throated Blue (1), Black-throated Green (2), Black-and-white (3), Chestnut-sided (2), Magnolia (2), Red-eyed Vireo (3), Eastern Wood-pewee (2). All appeared to be together, and the flock moved off down the hill into the neighbor's yard by 6:00. About then a few Nighthawks came over, a nice end to the day! (Then we ate a late supper). Cheers, Gail Mackiernan
