Howdy All! One thing I forgot to mention is a large mowed field (looked like turf) on the west side of Rt 13 just north of the town of Princess Anne. George and I went cruising by en route to Deal Island and didn't take time to stop. We were up on the field too fast before we realized there were birds in it. It's one of the spots we regret missing. Anyone birding the area should be aware that this area could be good for grass-pipers (Upland Sandpipers, Buff-breasted Sandpipers, Lesser Golden Plovers, and maybe Pectoral Sandpipers after a rain). Here in St Marys County, the NE winds have brought in good numbers of migrants. Kyle Rambo and I had a Rose-breasted Grosbeak and 9 sp of warblers during a lunch break yesterday on the Navy base. I had good numbers of warblers at Pt Lookout in sheltered areas (right on the point as well as the picnic area). For birders making the effort to get out in the wind, the warblers are at or below eye level in weeds and low shrubs out of the wind. -Greg Miller Hollywood, MD __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
