A good flight of migrants today at Rock Creek Park. DC, in the vicinity of
the ridge and Maintenance Yard. From about 7:15 to 7:45, things were very hot
indeed and we probably only ID'd about 1/3 to 1/2 of the birds flying in and
through!

Highlights included two Philadelphia Vireos (one at the ridge and one in the
yard), a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher at the ridge, and a flyover Red-headed
Woodpecker (an infrequent migrant here) near the horse stables. We also
tallied 15 species of warbler: Black-and-white (10), Blue-winged (2),
Blackburnian (1), Black-throated Blue (20), Black-throated Green (1), Black-
poll (2), Baybreasted (2), Cape May (1-2), Chestnut-sided (12), Magnolia (15),
Ovenbird (1), Parula (2), Redstart (15), Yellowthroat (5), Wormeating (1).
There were also about 15-20 Red-eyed Vireos and only two Gnatcatchers. R-T
Hummingbird numbers were down to 1. Other migrants included Scarlet Tanager
(2), Rose-breasted Grosbeak (1), Great-crested Flycatcher (1) and Baltimore
Oriole (1).
