This morning Helen, Mary jo and I birded the wooded area of Wilde Lake. It was a wonderful morning that hosted a great group of birds. At the bridge we observed from close up, an immature BC NIGHT HERON. For anyone that needs one for HO CO there are two birds at the lake that are very easy to see. We watched him preen from about 10-15 feet away. Along the wooded edge we observed VEERY, WHITE EYE, RED EYE VIREOS, TENNESSEE, PARULA, CHESTNUT SIDED, MAGNOLIA, BTB, B AND W, and COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, BALTIMORE ORIOLE. We entered the woods and in a thicket area we found a GOLDEN-WING. Interestingly, Helen ran into a fellow yesterday that had seen it in the same area. She did not find it after his report but we were delighted to find it this morning. Bonnie Ott (Howard County)
