About 30 patcipants joined Chan for a lovely morning of birding at Middle Patuxent. The birds were quite similar in variety to last saturday's field trip. The nicest addition was a PHILADELPHIA VIREO. A YELLOW-THROATED VIREO also appeared. 2 different YELLOW-BILLED cuckoos were seen, the latter giving everyone in the group great looks as it consumed some white fuzzy caterpillars. A BROAD WING appeared at 10:00 on the dot. BALTIMORE ORIOLE, ROSE BREASTED GROSBEAK and INDIGO BUNTING were also observed. A PILEATED made a spectacular appearance as it flew across a clearing.
