Quick note. I've plucked a couple branches of the So.Md. phone twig and got no response. At 1515, with the rain subsiding and wind slacking off (just a little bit, but not much), I braved a walk out onto our Chesapeake Bay seaplane basin seawall to check out a flock of terns at the mouth of the basin. Small flock of only 40-50 birds contained 1-2 Bridled Terns and at least 2 Sooty Terns, wheeling and turning wildly in the wind. I'm heading back out right now with a life jacket and a camera to try for some photos. Birds are plenty close enough for good pics, just buzzing by at mach oh-my-god! Miscellaneous stuff includes another Sandwich Tern, a couple Ruddy Turnstones, Willets, and Sanderlings. Will post more later.
