After most of the rain had fallen I tried to do some birding in the southern part of St. Mary's County. I found very few places to access the water. Pt. Lookout State Park was closed at the entrance and so was Elms Beach. The roads were closed to quite a few areas such as St. George's Island, but I finally found some terns at Kitt's Point. There were about 150 terns that were mainly Common Terns. There was one Black Tern, 19 Forster's Terns and 5 Royal Terns. The best bird that I found was a Cliff Swallow. I guess from Kyle's messages that Pax River was the place to be. Great birds! Sorry I missed them. Good Birding, Patty Craig St. Mary's County, Dameron, MD pattycraig@mail.ameritel.net
