This morning around 9:00 a flock of 37 high-flying Canada Geese passed over Tunis Mills. At 11:45 a.m., another flock, this one holding 100 Canada Geese, was surveying the same area. Between those two sightings, another flock was heard, but I was in tree cover so heavy as to not get a count. The beautiful melody of the chatter and jabber of the wintering geese has now begun! Here on Leeds Creek, we expect it to continue until mid-March of 2000. Welcome back! Les Roslund Easton, MD
