[MDOsprey] Merlin/feather

This evening a MERLIN perched in the dead tree top. He sat awhile and
preened at his feet. I am hoping he may stay awhile.
I wanted to relate a neat thing happened today when we were out in the
morning. I noticed a large feather floating out of the sky, spiraling
down. I ran to it and was able to retrieve it when it hit the ground. It
was a beautiful red-tail hawk feather. We had seen and heard him earlier
being mobbed by crows and I presume he lost it then. What a magical
thing that it happened to float down right where Jo and I were. (Of
course she reminded me I needed a permit to keep it!).
